realme 12 plus Design

The Realme 12+ uses the same vegan leather back design as the Pro variants. The borders, as well as the curved screen, have been changed with flat surfaces. In addition, there is no fluted bezel surrounding the cylindrical camera module on the back. Considering this, the phone still looks gorgeous. The handset comes in two colors: Navigator Beige and Pioneer Green.

The Realme 12+ contains an in-display fingerprint scanner that, but not specifically located, is fairly precise. The front panel has a 6.67-inch OLED display. It has FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a 100 percent P3 color gamut. The Realme 12+ has an improved peak brightness of 2,000 nits, rather than the 950 nits on the previous version. Rear Cameras:

Main Camera (50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor):

  • Resolution: The main camera captures photos at a whopping 50 megapixels.
  • Zoom: It has a 2x digital zoom, which works similarly to the regular 1x zoom.
  • Pixel Binning: When you take pictures, the camera combines pixels to create a 12.5MP image. This is useful for small screens like your smartphone.
  • Quality: In good lighting, it performs well.

    Ultra-Wide Camera (8MP):

  • Field of View: It provides a wide 112-degree view.
  • Image Quality: Acceptable, but details and colors could be better.

    Macro Sensor (2MP):

  • Close-Up Shots: It’s average for close-up photography.

    Selfie Camera (16MP):

  • Facial Detailing: Could be better, but skin tones look accurate.
  • Portrait Mode: Good exposure and detailing, but edge detection needs improvement.

Overall, the Realme 12+ 5G offers decent camera performance, especially in favorable lighting conditions. However, there’s room for improvement in certain areas.

Performance and software

The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, that powers the Realme 12+, is additionally found in several of other smartphones, such as the Realme 11 Pro from last year. Since it was released, not much changed with the chipset; it remains to offer reliable performance free from glitches and software freezes. In addition, the device hardly reduces under a heavy workload and isn’t slow when playing graphically heavy games like PubG and Call of Duty. While this isn’t a smartphone developed specifically for gaming, there is a visible temperature explosion, which isn’t really concerning. The phone uses liquid cooling technology to regulate its internal temperatureOut of the box, Realme 12+ operates Realme UI 5.0 on top of Android 14. With a few third-party apps already installed that may be removed if wished, the software is basically clean. Major software updates will be expected for the phone to be offered for two years.

Moving on, there are two RAM and options for storage for the phone: 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB. Using a microSD card in the secondary hybrid SIM slot, the storage can be expanded. Learn how the Realme 12+ compares to its competitors’ AnTuTu and Geekbench scores.

Battery and charging

The Realme 12+ contains a 5,000mAh battery that offers incredible backup. The PC Mark battery test explained a run time of 17 hours and 24 minutes. In addition, watching a 30-min 4k video at 50% brightness and volume brought about only a 2% loss in the phone’s battery charge. While it applies to charging, the phone takes about 45 to 50 minutes to charge an almost dead battery to 100 percent with its provided 67W fast charger.

Final verdict

As part of a last-minute bargain, bank offers can be used for buying the Realme 12+ for under Rs 19,000. Alternatively, the retail price of the phone is Rs 20,999 for the 128GB storage model and Rs 21,999 for the 256GB variant. The Realme 12 Plus has a curved-edge display and a 2x telephoto lens that gives amazing close-up images without needing you. After all that, the device’s features and display brightness are slightly lacking in contrast.
